  • Multimodal control — voice commands, gesture recognition, and touch working together; gesture control especially useful in kitchens and bathrooms where your hands are wet or full
  • Seamless home automation — home assistants push live updates to mirrors, so your calendar, smart home status, and alerts flow across every surface without manual sync
  • Contextual awareness — systems that adapt to time of day, who's in the room, and current activity; a mirror that dims everything and locks doors as you head to bed

The hardware enabling this: high-resolution transparent displays, capacitive and infrared touch layers, embedded cameras with on-device processing, and always-on voice recognition that increasingly runs locally.

💡 Why It Matters

Phones and tablets demand your attention. Smart mirrors and assistants integrate into the moments where your hands and eyes are already occupied — the bathroom, the kitchen, the hallway. That positioning makes them the most natural ambient computing interface we've ever designed.
