Yet Another Motivation Article

“Motivation” and “motivate” — these words are everywhere today, especially if you’re a manager or work closely with people. Most management interviews include some variation of the following:

  • “What does motivation mean to you?”
  • “What motivates you?”
  • “How do you motivate others?”
  • “When do you need to motivate a team?”
  • “Why is motivation important?”

And so on. Motivation, like any trend that gets overused, starts to feel like a Gordian knot.

Everyone claims to know how to cut through it. But the real question is: do they have the right sword?
